AFC's Project Shift emerges as a beacon of hope, providing community-based prevention, intervention, treatment, and response services for young individuals aged 12-18 who have been impacted by these forms of violence. Let's explore how Project Shift is making a difference, not just in the lives of affected youth but in shaping a safer and more just society.

Understanding the Need
:

The prevalence of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking among youth is a sobering reality that demands attention and action. AFC recognizes the urgency of this issue and directs its efforts towards empowering young individuals who have been impacted by these forms of violence. By offering a comprehensive range of services, Project Shift aims to break the cycle of violence, providing a supportive environment where youth can heal, grow, and reclaim their sense of safety and well-being.

Objectives:

Project Shift's objectives are ambitious and far-reaching, reflecting a commitment to addressing the root causes of violence against women and strengthening services for victims. The key objectives include:

1. **Federal Leadership in Violence Reduction:** By taking a leadership role, Project Shift aims to contribute to the national effort to reduce violence against women, emphasizing the importance of a collective and systematic approach.

2. **Administering Justice for Women:** The program seeks to administer justice for women, recognizing the need for a legal and systemic response to address the injustices faced by victims of domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking.

3. **Strengthening Services for Victims:** Project Shift is dedicated to enhancing and fortifying services for victims, ensuring that those impacted by violence have access to the support and resources they need for healing and recovery.

Services:

Project Shift's comprehensive approach to violence prevention and support encompasses a range of services tailored to meet the diverse needs of affected youth. The services provided include:

1. **Prevention:** Community-based prevention programs aimed at addressing the root causes of violence and fostering healthy relationships among youth.

2. **Intervention:** Immediate and targeted intervention services to support youth who have experienced domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, or stalking.

Conclusion:

AFC's Project Shift stands as a testament to the power of community-driven initiatives in addressing and preventing violence against youth. By providing leadership on a federal level, administering justice for women, and strengthening victim services, Project Shift contributes to a safer and more supportive environment for those affected by domestic violence, dating violence, sexual assault, and stalking. As the program empowers youth to overcome the impact of violence, it not only transforms individual lives but also takes a significant step towards building a society where safety, justice, and support are the foundation for a brighter future.

Each year on July 28 , the world comes together to recognize World Hepatitis Day , a global call to action to raise awareness, fight stigma, and increase access to testing and treatment for viral hepatitis. This year’s theme, “One Life, One Liver”, reminds us just how vital liver health is — and how preventable and treatable hepatitis can be with the right education and support systems in place. At Ambassadors for Christ , we stand on the frontlines of prevention and education through our EQUIP Program , which provides STD prevention education and free testing opportunities to at-risk youth in our community. Hepatitis B and C — two of the most common forms of viral hepatitis — can be spread through sexual contact, making youth-centered sexual health education not just important, but essential. Through EQUIP , young people gain access to: Accurate, judgment-free education on sexual health and hepatitis prevention Free, confidential testing for STDs and hepatitis Resources to understand treatment options and how to protect themselves and others Safe spaces for honest conversations about risk, health, and healing In a time where misinformation can spread faster than any virus, knowledge becomes power. Programs like EQUIP empower youth with the tools they need to take control of their health and build futures free from stigma and disease. On this World Hepatitis Day, we encourage everyone to: Get tested and know your status Educate yourself and others about how hepatitis spreads and how to prevent it Support organizations like Ambassadors for Christ that are doing the work on the ground every day Together, we can prevent new infections, support those living with hepatitis, and build a healthier future — one youth, one family, one community at a time. April marks Sexual Assault Awareness Month (SAAM) — a time to raise our voices, spread awareness, and stand in solidarity with survivors of sexual assault and trafficking. In 2025, the theme continues to emphasize prevention, empowerment, and healing , reminding us that creating safe communities begins with education, empathy, and action. Sexual assault affects millions of individuals across all walks of life. According to recent statistics, 1 in 3 women and 1 in 6 men have experienced some form of contact sexual violence in their lifetime. Survivors often carry invisible scars — trauma, isolation, and fear — that extend far beyond the moment of abuse. But during SAAM, we collectively send a powerful message: You are not alone. Empowering Survivors with Support and Hope One organization making a tangible difference is Ambassadors For Christ Youth Ministries (AFC) . Dedicated to uplifting vulnerable and at-risk youth, AFC plays a vital role in providing resources, counseling, and faith-based support to victims of sexual assault and trafficking. AFC understands that healing is not one-size-fits-all. For survivors, especially young people, finding a safe space to process their pain and reclaim their identity is essential. Through mentorship programs, trauma-informed care, spiritual guidance, and access to community resources, AFC offers a holistic approach to recovery . "We believe in meeting people where they are — with compassion, faith, and practical help," says one AFC advocate. "Our mission is to be a light in the darkness and a voice for those who have been silenced." Raising Awareness, Inspiring Change During Sexual Assault Awareness Month, AFC ramps up its advocacy efforts by: Hosting educational workshops for teens and families on consent, healthy relationships, and online safety. Collaborating with local schools and churches to increase awareness and create safe reporting spaces. Partnering with law enforcement and shelters to assist those escaping trafficking situations. Their work reminds us that prevention starts with empowering youth, educating communities , and never shying away from difficult conversations. How You Can Get Involved Everyone has a role to play in ending sexual violence. This April, consider: Wearing teal , the official color of SAAM, to show your support. Sharing survivor stories (with permission) or resources on social media. Donating to or volunteering with organizations like Ambassadors For Christ Youth Ministries that are on the front lines of this fight. Hosting a prayer circle, awareness walk, or informational event in your community. Final Thoughts Sexual Assault Awareness Month isn’t just about raising awareness — it’s about creating a world where every survivor feels heard, supported, and safe. With organizations like Ambassadors For Christ Youth Ministries , we are reminded that there is hope beyond trauma , and healing is possible. Together, we can stand with survivors, amplify their voices , and work toward a future free from abuse and exploitation. If you or someone you know needs help, please reach out to the National Sexual Assault Hotline: 1-800-656-HOPE (4673) or connect with Ambassadors For Christ Youth Ministries at afcyouth.org for faith-centered support and resources.
